FAQ
Everything you need to know.
What is Pixop FILE?
Pixop FILE is a cloud-based video processing service designed for file-based workflows. It automates enhancement, format conversion, and standardization of video assets at scale, without requiring changes to your existing infrastructure.
How does Pixop FILE integrate into existing workflows?
Pixop FILE sits between your storage or MAM and your delivery pipeline. Assets are submitted via API, Web App, or direct integration, processed through a configurable pipeline, and returned as delivery-ready outputs. No changes to your encoder or distribution setup are required.
Does Pixop FILE integrate with Mimir?
Yes. Pixop FILE is pre-integrated with Mimir by Fonn Group, allowing you to trigger processing directly from within your MAM environment. This enables seamless enhancement and format conversion without exporting or manually handling assets outside your existing workflow.
Do I need to manage any infrastructure?
No. Pixop FILE runs entirely on AWS and is fully managed. There are no servers to provision, no GPU infrastructure to maintain, and no scaling concerns. Processing capacity adjusts automatically based on your workload.
What kind of processing can be applied to assets?
Pixop FILE supports a range of optional processing stages, including deinterlacing, restoration, super resolution, frame rate normalization, HDR conversion, color space conversion, and final adjustments such as film grain. Each stage can be enabled or disabled depending on your workflow.
Can I process entire archives, or just individual files?
Both. Pixop FILE supports processing of single assets as well as large-scale archive operations. Jobs can be triggered manually, via API, or automated through integration with your MAM or storage systems.
How are outputs delivered?
Processed assets are delivered as standardized, mezzanine or delivery-ready files. Outputs can be written directly to S3, made available via pre-signed URLs, or returned to your MAM system, depending on your integration setup.
