Output targets depend on source quality. Pixop injects realistic detail where it is missing - it does not “make over” the content. A good-quality HD source targets premium 4K; an SD or legacy source realistically targets a clean, high-quality HD rather than 4K.

What is Pixop Prime, and what does LIVE mean?

Pixop Prime is our ML-powered video enhancement pipeline. It runs in two modes: LIVE, for real-time live broadcast and playout, and file-based, for VOD, library enhancement and remastering. In LIVE operation it is positioned between the contribution and delivery encoders, using AI-based upconversion and restoration to convert lossy compressed HD SDR inputs into 4K HDR streams, and to restore degraded 1080i feeds to high-quality 1080p.

Which systems and platforms does Pixop Prime integrate with?

Pixop Prime integrates into standard broadcast and IP-based workflows, supporting MPEG-TS over SRT and SDI-based ingest pipelines. It is pre-integrated with platforms such as TVU MediaMesh and is designed to fit into existing contribution and delivery chains without requiring a redesign of the production workflow.

How does the Pixop Prime processing pipeline work?

The system combines multiple Super Resolution methods to upscale video while maintaining temporal consistency, restoring detail to compressed video, and minimizing artifacts. Designed for low-latency processing, it performs SDR to HDR conversion just before delivery encoding. This flexible approach supports both compressed and uncompressed baseband workflows, ensuring seamless integration into various live production scenarios.

What media formats, resolutions, and codecs are supported?

Our system is versatile: it can upconvert HD to a maximum resolution of 4K at 60 FPS, and SD to high-quality HD, while also supporting lower resolutions and frame rates (e.g., Full HD at 30 FPS) as needed. It supports widely used media formats and codecs, including H.264 and H.265, ensuring high-quality output across various broadcasting and distribution channels.

How is Pixop Prime monitored and integrated into observability systems?

Pixop Prime is built for operational environments with full observability support, including Prometheus metrics and OpenTelemetry-based tracing. Our system is engineered to deliver superior dynamic range and color performance on HDR-capable displays. It supports widely adopted HDR standards such as HDR10 and HLG, ensuring your content benefits from enhanced contrast, vibrant colors, and improved detail across modern broadcast and streaming platforms.

The same Pixop Prime pipeline also runs file-based workloads under applicable Prime licensing models. Pixop FILE is a separate, fully managed SaaS platform - submit your assets through the web app or REST API and Pixop handles the processing.
