Pixop Archive Conversion uses AI to upscale, restore, and enhance archived video content. It's designed for broadcasters and media companies looking to repurpose and monetize legacy footage in UHD and HDR quality.

How do I use the service?

Integration is simple via our cloud-native REST API. Your team can trigger processing jobs directly from your existing workflows. Full API documentation is available under our Developer section.

Where is the processing done?

Currently, all Archive Conversion jobs are run in Pixop’s AWS infrastructure. This ensures high performance, scalability, and security for large-scale archive enhancement.

What formats do you support?

Pixop supports all widely used and relevant video formats. If your file type isn’t accepted or you're unsure, feel free to reach out - we're happy to help find a solution.

Can you enhance all footage?

Not quite. While Pixop delivers impressive results, we’re not magicians. Our models are trained on digitally shot footage and work best on content captured from the late ’90s onwards. We focus on restoring and enhancing—not replacing—your material, always with full respect for the original artistic intent.

How is pricing calculated?

Archive Conversion is billed per gigapixel processed. You’re only charged for what you use, with no hidden fees or infrastructure costs.

For the truly non-geek: This piece is aimed at non-technical audiences, too, and I’m told not everyone knows what a “sprite” is. It could be (1) a small magical creature, (2) a tiny, delicate person, (3) a two-dimensional image in computer graphics, (4) a large electrical discharge above thunderstorms, or (5) a lime-flavoured soft drink. Jon usually talks about option 3, but honestly, he brings a bit of all five. Oh, and “real-time” means that computers can do their magic on a video stream without having to delay or slow it (ie, it takes less than an hour to upscale an hour of video – In live scenarios, the magic happens in milliseconds.)
